CAN recognises the substantial damage that drug and alcohol use may have on individuals, families and communities. In response, they exist to promote change by delivering a range of quality services that raise awareness, prevent misuse and offer interventions to improve people's lives.

March 25th, 2011 CommentSo...a fine night had by all! We have our initial total of £375.03 that is going to help CAN and the valuable work they do. You can still donate online (and I know that there is more money on its way) by clicking the Donate button to the right...and we are also hosting a reading by Alan Moore and money raised goes to CAN. Twurlitzer Tomorrow!
March 23rd, 2011 CommentIt is tomorrow. It starts at 7:30 at the Nook Cafe in the Fishmarket. It raises money for a brilliant charity. You will be there! Tickets are £5 and amongst other acts you will hear @thisismaps dj and live music from @decibelselctro and others. We hope you join us!

It's official! Twurlitzer supporting CAN
February 9th, 2011 CommentThe vetting has been done and I am delighted to announce that the charity we are supporting is CAN. You can read more about them on their website http://www.can.org.uk/ and I will post more information about how the money we are raising is going to help their work.
And and and we have our Twurlitzer logo thanks to designer Justin!
We will have a donations page and tickets system set up very soon so sit tight!
We are still on the lookout for different bands to play our Live Jukebox night so if you have a band, perhaps funk, reggae, barbershop, folk, blues or more and would like to offer your services to help raise money for CAN and to have an awesome night, get in touch with us by leaving a comment on this blog or tweeting us at @NNTwestival
Thank you to all of the work our volunteers have put in so far - next volunteers meeting is Thursday 17th in the Lamplighter at 6pm - so if you would like to get involved come along and meet us! All hands on deck!
